Dear Robot are an atmospheric indie pop band from Stroud and Bristol. Starting out in 2016 as a rock two-piece, drummer James Dolman and singer/guitarist Tom Jacob soon recruited Sophie Jackson and her synthesisers to expand the band’s sound. Drawing from a wide range of influences such as The Cocteau Twins, Radiohead and Grizzly Bear, what resulted was a unique and heady mix of synth-laden, rhythmically intricate guitar pop, at the heart of which is a collection of thoughtful, well-crafted songs.
The group have recently released their first single ‘Subject/Object’, produced by Sean Genockey (Reuben, Them Crooked Vultures, Shame, Manic Street Preachers), a shifting and immersive track with a dark disco beat.
New single ‘Nowhere’, produced by Aaron Zahl (Mesadorm) was released in December 2017.
