Mesadorm at Latitude Festival (Faber Alt Stage)
Mesadorm perform on the Faber Alt stage at Latitude festival 2026!
Mesadorm perform on the Faber Alt stage at Latitude festival 2026!
After four years of quiet recalibration, the critically acclaimed alt-rock quintet Mesadorm have returned with the announcement that their much-anticipated third album, Comfort and Lies is set for release in June 2026.
To mark this occasion, the band will be performing across the UK this summer and we’re delighted to welcome them to The Long Table Sanctuary on Friday 17th July!
Difficult to confine to a single genre, Mesadorm exist in the spaces between art rock and dream pop. A collaborative project between five lifelong friends - Blythe Pepino, Daisy Palmer, Jo Silverston and David Johnston- their long-shared history shaped by friendship, love, rupture and reunion gives the band an intuitive chemistry, unfolding live as performances that feel both grounded and transportive.
Their debut album Heterogaster (2018) was a striking introduction that received widespread acclaim (“some of the most interesting music this year” - The Guardian) including being named ‘Album of the Year’ by BBC Introducing in the West and featured in The Guardian’s Best Contemporary Albums of the Year.
Support for this show comes from Mara Simpson
Mara is a multi-instrumentalist, performing artist, producer and composer. Her work seamlessly blends electronic and acoustic instruments, exploring tape machines, analogue synths and field recordings. Her fourth studio album Living Matter (2025), written and engineered in the studio she hand built with friend and collaborated Philippe Nash, was written in response to a set of poems by celebrated poet JLM Morton published in her book Red Handed. Centred around our connection to green and blue spaces, of ancient land and artefact, Living Matter has become a 6Music favourite, been performed live across stages, and designed into an immersive spatial sound installation (Hidden Notes Festival 2025).
Mesadorm perform a double header with Hollis Robin at the Jam Jar , Bristol.
Bio: After four years away, Mesadorm have returned with Come On, Baby*,* their first new music since Pollinator**** and the opening release from their forthcoming third album, Comfort and Lies, due this June.
Out on 6th March, Come On, Baby carries a sense of forward motion, thoughtful and intimate at its core, lifted by bright harmonies and an easy, unforced momentum, setting the tone for an album that leans into emotional openness. Comfort and Lies is Mesadorm’s most expansive work to date, reflecting on upbringing, belonging and care, while quietly echoing the tension and uncertainty of life in contemporary Britain.
Hollis Robin is a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and very chill wizard based in Bristol. Robin's self-released music combines finger picked acoustic guitars, lo-fi drums and samples, psychedelic synth textures, and soaring pop melodies with reflective and curious lyrics exploring the continuity between the insides of our heads and the natural world outside them. Performing solo or backed by pianist Luke Faber and flautist Mel Thompson, Hollis' live shows are warm and welcoming, inviting the audience in to a world of nature spirits, inner children, love, and care.

MESADORM
Formed in Bristol during 2015 Mesadorm's emotive and skilled melding of the pastoral and synthetic is the result of a unique combination of experienced musicianship, diverse cultural tastes and the strong bonds of friendship, with songwriting firmly aimed at the space between the piercing domestic observations of Suzanne Vega and the elemental other-worldiness of Bjork, drawing on contemporary influences including Caribou, Grizzly Bear and Sylvan Esso as well as legendary female luminaries like Carole King, Joni Mitchell and Kate Bush. Aside from the emotional heft of Mesadorm's music, the pedigree of its members is also not to be underestimated. Between them, Mesadorm's members have played with Paloma Faith, Goldfrapp, Rae Morris, Frank Turner, The Unthanks, The Magnetic North, toured with London Grammar and fronted major-label signing Vaults as well as singing on John Lewis' 2016 Christmas Ad. - Adam Brooks

JACOB & DRINKWATER
Devon based duo Jacob & Drinkwater have been called ‘stand out new folk’ by BBC 6 Music with their live show described as ‘intense and spellbinding’ by Folk Radio UK. The duo formed in 2014 playing their first gig together at the iconic Glastonbury Festival.
The duo’s dynamic and emotionally charged live show with all its energy, musical chemistry and spontaneity has drawn comparisons with the virtuosic pairing of John Martyn and Danny Thompson. Jacob's sweeping vocals never fail to captivate, delivering many a spine-tingling moment; the fluidity and precision of his finger-picking underpinned by Drinkwater's nimbly rhythmic double bass; at times sweetly soaring, haunting, percussive and driving, the layers of depth a perfect counterfoil. The added complement of stirring vocal harmonies nicely rounds off the mix.

Celebrating alternative music made and played by women.
Who are we?
We are two music lovers who want to see more female musicians playing live music. Our quarterly gig nights at Paper Dress Vintage in Hackney showcase cutting-edge alternative music made and played by women.
Why do we need an all-female gig night?
Male-only line-ups are increasingly a thing of the past - hooray! This means there’s a wealth of exciting female talent out there with a renewed creative energy and desire to perform. Alt + f gigs aim to give female musicians a platform to share their music with a friendly, supportive audience, while also giving audiences the chance to see cutting-edge female-driven acts in a unique independent venue. After decades of men dominating the live music scene we think it’s time to put women centre stage and hopefully help inspire the next generation of female musicians in the process.
